Iran Says Sovereignty ‘Not for Sale’ in Nuclear Talks

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned that Tehran will protect its sovereignty at all costs and stated that Iran prefers negotiation and that a nuclear agreement pertaining to its peaceful program is only feasible if it is fair and balanced.

Araghchi stated that millions of Iranians flocked to the streets to celebrate the 47th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, which scholars have referred to as the “final major revolution of the 20th century,” in a social media post.

In light of previous years, security issues
According to Araghchi, Iran has seen many difficulties in the decades following the revolution, especially in the last 12 months.

Without identifying the nations involved, he stated, “Our people were subjected to unprecedented strikes by two nuclear-armed regimes in the past year alone, followed by a large-scale terrorist operation.”

The Islamic Republic of Iran “always stood strong” in spite of these events, he continued, emphasizing that this fortitude is a result of faith in its own citizens rather than in foreign governments.

Araghchi expressed optimism for the upcoming year, saying he genuinely hoped it will be one in which peace and stability take hold and dialogue triumphs over conflict.

“We choose diplomacy, and we may reach an agreement over Iran’s peaceful nuclear program,” he stated, referring to ongoing negotiations without mentioning the United States.

But only if it is fair and balanced will this agreement be feasible,” he continued.

Araghchi made it clear that Iran would not keep quiet about any possible assault that would violate its sovereignty.

He declared, “Iran will not back down from defending its sovereignty, no matter the cost.”

“As millions of Iranians have once again plainly proved, our rights and dignity are not for sale,” he said, pointing to the millions who commemorated the event.
