The Government Rajiv Gandhi General Hospital’s Pathology Department officially opened the Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology (FNAC) unit, which began providing diagnostic services for cancer and other serious illnesses.
The public is welcome to use this brand-new facility. Patients will no longer need to travel to private labs or hospitals in distant cities for first cancer screenings thanks to the district hospital’s implementation of FNAC testing. In addition to saving money and time, this will greatly facilitate prompt diagnosis and treatment.
Until now, patients had to travel to private hospitals because the hospital lacked this facility. The cost of the test was between 800 and 1000 rupees, and reports were frequently not received on time. For middle-class and impoverished patients, this expense was exorbitant, making prompt testing challenging. The district hospital will now offer this test at no cost, giving patients a great deal of relief.

Alwar District Hospital will now use a tiny needle for cancer screening, according to the Pathology Department. FNAC is a straightforward and efficient diagnostic technique. It examines any lump in the body, including the breast, throat, thyroid, or lymph node, using a tiny needle.
Patients do not need to be admitted to the hospital for this procedure, which does not involve any incisions or surgery. This method can precisely detect cancer in its early stages, allowing for prompt treatment. Patients no longer need to travel to Jaipur or Delhi for reports thanks to local testing.
Patients will feel better right away
Patients will receive accurate and quick reports thanks to the new machine and OPD examining room. In the past, about 20 patients were sent outside every day for biopsies and tumor-related examinations. The district hospital will now finish this process.
Patients in Alwar and the adjacent rural areas will immediately benefit from the establishment of cancer and tumor testing facilities, according to Minister of State for Forests Sharma. According to Chief Medical Officer Dr. Sunil Chauhan, FNAC is a crucial and safe diagnostic technique that uses a very fine needle to collect tumor cells. It does not involve hospitalization, stitches, or incisions. This will make it possible to detect major illnesses like cancer early and treat them promptly.
