Financial investigations into large corporate groups in India continue to draw attention as enforcement agencies examine possible irregularities. The latest development involves searches linked to Reliance Power Ltd., a company associated with industrialist Anil Ambani, as authorities review financial transactions and corporate governance matters.
As part of an inquiry into Reliance Power Ltd., a group firm of industrialist Anil Ambani, the Enforcement Directorate searched several facilities in Hyderabad and Mumbai on Friday, according to officials.
ED Searches Facilities Linked to Reliance Power
They added that ten to twelve locations in the two cities connected to the aforementioned company and its officials are being searched.According to the officials, approximately fifteen teams from the agency are working on the project.
The Reliance Group did not immediately respond to a question. In addition to financial irregularities under the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA), the ED is looking into several entities connected to Anil Ambani as part of an alleged money laundering investigation including bank fraud.

As part of this inquiry, the ED has questioned 66-year-old Anil Ambani twice under the anti-money laundering law. On the Supreme Court’s orders, the ED established a special investigation team (SIT) to look into the charges against Ambani’s group companies.
The ED has filed three money laundering cases against the Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (ADAG) to look into allegations of bank loan fraud and other financial irregularities, according to evidence it sent to the top court.
