On Thursday, Google unveiled Workspace Studio, a new platform that allows users to develop, manage, and share AI agents based on the multimodal capabilities of Gemini 3.
Google said in a blog post, “With Workspace Studio, you can develop agents in minutes to automate daily work, from basic activities to complicated processes – no coding or specialized syntax necessary,” emphasizing that anybody without technical expertise may use it.
These AI agents may be deployed across Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Drive, Meet and Chat to take over mundane chores. Workspace Studio also supports connectivity to other important business applications, like Asana, Jira, Mailchimp and Salesforce, making it simpler for enterprises to integrate their current systems.
The technology works by enabling users to explain what they want done, and the AI generates the process automatically. Google claims that agents may gather critical information from emails and attachments, such as action points and invoice data, with the system automatically generating and performing the workflow.
The blog presents a basic example of how an instruction may look: “For example, you may suggest, ‘If an email has a question for me, mark the email as ‘To respond’ and ping me in Chat.’” This implies that instead of utilizing code, users may utilize natural language to develop task-specific digital agents.
Farhaz Karmali, product director for the Google Workspace Ecosystem, wrote: “Studio puts the entire power of agentic AI into the hands of everyone, not just experts, by reducing the friction of coding and making it simple for anybody to develop agents that automate their unique business processes in minutes.”
Customers in Google’s Gemini Alpha program are already using Workspace Studio. The business claims that in the last month, these AI bots have completed more than 20 million jobs. They have been used by users for a variety of functions, including sorting legal notifications and processing travel permissions, as well as delivering status updates and setting up reminders.
