IndiGo Processes ₹610 Crore Refunds, Delivers 3,000 Lost Bags

The Ministry of Civil Aviation claimed on Sunday that struggling carrier IndiGo has already processed reimbursements of Rs 610 crore and that its flight schedules are returning to normal.

Additionally, it stated that as of Saturday, IndiGo has successfully delivered 3,000 pieces of luggage to travelers throughout India. IndiGo was given instructions by the Ministry to locate and deliver any luggage that was separated from customers as a result of interruptions within 48 hours.

According to the report, airport directors from Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, and Goa have certified that all terminals are operating normally during the day and that passenger flow is unobstructed at check-in, security, and boarding locations.

From 706 flights on Friday to 1,565 on Saturday and expected to reach 1,650 during the day, IndiGo’s flight operations have recorded a steady increase. Every other domestic airline is running efficiently and to capacity.

The Ministry stated in a statement that it has given IndiGo tight instructions to finish all reimbursements for canceled or significantly delayed flights by Sunday at 8 PM, adding that it has already processed payments of Rs 610 crore.

“Rescheduling travel affected by cancellations is not subject to extra surcharges. In order to proactively help passengers and ensure that refund and rebooking concerns are addressed without delay or inconvenience, dedicated support cells have been established,” the statement stated.

“All remedial actions will continue until operations completely stabilize, and the aviation network is rapidly approaching full normality. To guarantee complete protection of passengers’ rights and interests, the Ministry will keep a close eye on everything,” it stated.
