AI Boosts Job Seeker Engagement by 15–20%: Info Edge

The introduction of new artificial intelligence (AI)-powered models for job search and suggestions has resulted in a 15-20% rise in job seeker engagement year over year, according to Info Edge, the parent company of India’s biggest job portal, Naukri.com.

The remarks are significant since the corporation previously said that AI is improving Info Edge systems by 10–20%.

Managing Director and CEO Hitesh Oberoi revealed during the Q4FY25 earnings call that the implementation of new AI models for job search and recommendations has led to a 15-20% year-over-year increase in job seeker engagement.

Across all of Naukri’s platforms, a new generation of machine learning algorithms is driving the advances. According to Oberoi, these algorithms improve resume-job match accuracy, personalize job recommendations, and refine search intent.

The company’s matrimony portal, Jeevansathi, has also shown comparable speed gains, thus the job search platform is not an anomaly.

Due to continuous attrition, businesses continue to employ to backfill positions even if net hiring in the information technology (IT) industry is still modest. Executives pointed out that gross hiring—which includes replacement hiring—has a stronger correlation with Naukri’s revenue than net staff increases.

“The majority of IT service companies are at a point where their attrition rates have stabilized; they may not be adding a lot of headcount, but they are replacing the people who are leaving.” However… It’s a basic setting, and we are undoubtedly the most affordable option for hiring,” Oberoi said.

According to the firm, it is now more focused on expanding into non-IT and other industries, gaining new clients in tier-2 and tier-3 cities, and adding additional GCCs.

This is in line with the larger trend of businesses building locations outside of major cities.
