Operations Begin from Navi Mumbai International Airport

On December 25, Air India Express began operating out of Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA). It was among the first airlines to start regular service on the day the new airport opened for business by providing direct flights to Delhi and Bengaluru.

According to the airline, Bengaluru was the destination of its inaugural flight from NMIA. During a ceremony at the airport to commemorate the launch, the first passenger received a unique boarding ticket.

MD Highlights Importance of NMIA Launch

While addressing the inauguration of flights at the new site, Aloke Singh, Managing Director of Air India Express, praised it as a tremendous success. He thanked everyone for participating in the experiment and pledged to keep enhancing the airline’s offerings.

The city and the area have reached a significant milestone with the launch of flights from Navi Mumbai. We are pleased to contribute to this endeavor to increase Mumbai’s and the larger Mumbai Metropolitan Region’s capability. In addition to our services from CSMIA, where we run direct flights to 11 domestic and three foreign locations, Navi Mumbai is a crucial component of our dual-airport plan,” Singh said.

“Being here from the beginning shows how confident we are in NMIA’s potential and how this airport will help Mumbai resume its fast development trajectory. With the use of a contemporary fleet, AIX will expand its operations in the future to provide visitors with dependable, value-driven connection that is given with the warmth of Indian hospitality,” he said.
