Amul Price Cut News: As of September 22, there have been significant price reductions for over 700 product packs, including butter, ghee, cheese, paneer, chocolates, bakery goods, and frozen snacks.
Amul has lowered the cost of almost 700 product packs, which include ice cream, cheese, butter, ghee, and frozen snacks. The revised pricing will take effect on September 22, 2025. The price change comes after the latest GST rate decrease. With the recent reduction in the GST rate, GCMMF, the company that sells dairy products under the Amul name, has made the decision to completely pass the savings on to its consumers.
With effect from September 22, there have been significant price reductions for over 700 product packs, including those for butter, ghee, cheese, paneer, chocolates, baked goods, and frozen snacks.
For daily essentials, Amul Butter (100g) is now just Rs 58 instead of Rs 62, and the 500g bag is now Rs 285 instead of Rs 305. Price reductions for ghee have been significant; the 1-litre carton is now just Rs 40 to Rs 610, and the 5-litre tin is now Rs 200 to Rs 3,075.
With Amul Gold (1L UHT) going from Rs 83 to Rs 80 and Amul Taaza Toned Milk (1L UHT) going from Rs 77 to Rs 75, milk has also become more reasonably priced.
There have been cutbacks to processed and frozen foods as well. The price of 200g of frozen paneer has decreased from Rs 99 to Rs 95, while the price of a 1kg block of processed cheese has decreased by Rs 30 to Rs 545. Smaller packages, such as 200g of cheese cubes and 200g of chopped cheese mix, cost Rs 9 and Rs 14, respectively.
The ice cream category has seen some of the most severe reductions. The price of Tub Vanilla Magic (1L) has decreased from Rs 195 to Rs 135 (saving Rs 60), while the well-liked Kulfi Punjabi (60ml) is now just Rs 10 instead of Rs 15. Specialty flavors like Duetz Gold Mango (60ml) are now just Rs 10 instead of Rs 20, and even little cup portions like Strawberry Cup (55ml) are now only Rs 10.
The price of the Chocominis 250g tub has decreased by Rs 40 to Rs 400, while the Amul Dark Chocolate (150g) has decreased from Rs 200 to Rs 180. A 450g bag of Sugar-Free Cookies is now available for Rs225, down from Rs250, while bakery goods like Amul Butter Cookies (200g) have decreased by Rs10 to Rs65.
Specialty products, like as Amul Mithai Mate (400g tin), are also less expensive; they now cost Rs 120 after a Rs 10 discount. Amul French Fries (1.25kg) are now available at Rs 365 instead of Rs 405.
Since per capita consumption of dairy products is still relatively low in India, “GCMMF claimed in a statement that Amul believes the price drop will enhance consumption of a range of dairy products, notably ice cream, cheese, and butter, creating a large potential opportunity.”
GCMMF, which is owned by 36 lakh farmers, said that the action is anticipated to increase demand and increase its revenue. Mother Dairy has already announced price reductions for all of its products beginning on September 22.
