Assam 2026 Elections: Gogoi’s Promise

According to Gogoi, the head of the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma has been involved in “so many humiliating cases.”

Assamese people deserve more, and they would get better after the 2026 assembly elections, Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi remarked, mocking Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Gogoi Slams Sarma Again

Additionally, Gogoi made fun of Sarma‘s “latest fail performance” by bringing up the Assam Police’s inquiry into the Congress deputy leader in the Lok Sabha’s suspected Pakistani ties; the probe report has not yet been made public.

Gogoi said on the microblogging site X, “I feel terrible for a chief minister whose words have lost all credibility and whose deeds have made a farce of the chair.”

The chief minister has been involved in “so many humiliating incidents,” according to Gogoi, who is also the head of the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee.

Rahul Gandhi Body Double

The chief minister had once claimed to have seen Rahul Gandhi’s “body duplicate” on the “Bharat Jodo Yatra,” he recalled.

“‘RG’s body double’ is not even as large as the most recent flop show. Assamese people deserve better. Assamese people would benefit more. “In 2026,” he said.

SIT Report Raises Concerns

The report by the Assam Police’s Special Investigation Team, which looked into Gogoi and his family’s suspected ties to Pakistan, included severe claims, which Sarma called a “grave worry” on Thursday.

The chief minister had said, “I will bring up the issue in the cabinet and talk about it with my ministerial colleagues.”

According to Sarma, the report’s contents will soon be made public via the legal procedure, and he will provide the media with as much information as he can, except any sensitive material.
