Bank Holiday Today, February 18: With the exception of Sikkim, where today is a bank holiday for Losar, all public and private sector banks will be open today, February 18.
Lenders like SBI, HDFC Bank, PNB, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, and others will be closed in Sikkim today since the state has declared a bank holiday owing to Losar. All other parts of India, however, will have open banks.
How are bank holidays determined?
The Reserve Bank of India sets bank holidays in India and releases the RBI bank holiday calendar at the start of each year.
The RBI bank holiday calendar governs the observance of bank holidays.
Real-Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) holidays, the Negotiable Instruments Act, and bank account closures are the three categories into which the RBI divides all bank holidays.
Bank holidays differ from one place to another based on local celebrations and festivities. All banks do, however, celebrate national holidays like as Gandhi Jayanti and Republic Day.
Aside from these, all Sundays of the month and the second and fourth Saturdays are closed.
February’s remaining bank holidays
