Bihar Politics: RJD-Congress Seat-Sharing Formula Shows Strong Alliance

The Bihar Mahagathbandhan has agreed to share seats. Congress and RJD have agreed to sacrifice for new friends. Congress should get 50–52 members, while RJD may receive 135–136 seats.

Mahagathbandhan Agrees Seat Sharing

Additionally, seats will go to Mukesh Sahni’s party. There may be a formal seat announcement on September 15. There is an effort to convey a message of solidarity.

The countdown to the assembly elections in Bihar has started. The Mahagathbandhan (INDIA) has also overcome a significant obstacle by agreeing on seat sharing. In order to give new partners an opportunity to try their luck in the electoral field, the two major and prominent parties of this alliance, RJD-Congress, have agreed that both parties would make certain sacrifices in order to continue on the road to triumph.

Grand Alliance Finalizes Seats

It was determined during a lengthy meeting held at the official home of Tejashwi Yadav, the Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Assembly and the Chairman of the Grand Alliance’s Coordination Committee, that the parties would be given seats where they could effectively challenge their opponents.

Political analysts also think that only by working together and minimizing the extent of the divide would this decision, which was made with unanimous agreement at the Grand Alliance conference, be able to compete with the powerful network and vote bank of the Grand Alliance, BJP, and NDA.

Congress and RJD sources claim that RJD will be the largest party in the election based on the seat-sharing mechanism. The anticipated number of seats is between 135 and 136. The RLSP (Paras faction) and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha will get around 10–11 of these seats.

Congress, Left, Sahni Seats

According to some estimates, Congress will get between 50 and 52 members, placing it in second place. The left parties may get some of the seats that Congress has available. There is talk that the three left-leaning parties might win 34 seats together. This time around, the Mahagathbandhan includes Mukesh Sahni’s party. There are also rumors that it will get 18–20 seats.

Despite his long-standing demands for 60 seats, Sahni is reportedly willing to make sacrifices in order to ensure the grand alliance’s success.

Unity Key to Alliance Success

It is important to note that the Mahagathbandhan saw a great deal of squabbling over seats. Even before the election process started, parties like Congress and the Vikasheel Insan Party were calling for a larger portion of public platforms.

Although it was very difficult to persuade these parties to agree under such conditions, state level leaders eventually agreed that the party’s objective should be to bring the grand alliance to power rather than just get more seats.

The formal seat announcement may now take place on September 15th. It will be clear that any obstacle can be overcome if the opposition is unified if there is no internal strife within the Mahagathbandhan prior to this.
