Binance CEO Richard Teng on December 3 stated with the increased legal clarity throughout the globe, crypto has sector has expanded multi-fold in the last one year, and will soon become the “global infrastructure layer.”
Sharing updates on Binance’s progress at Binance Blockchain Week 2025 in Dubai, he noted that Binance Pay’s merchant base rose from 12,000 at the beginning of the year to close to 21 million at present, while it has completed over 272 billion transactions.
Teng stated, “Crypto is swiftly becoming the global infrastructure layer… Crypto trading is increasing too. Therefore, it is anticipated that spot volume on controlled exchange would reach a four-year high. Perpetual DEX (decentralized exchange) volume hit 1.3 trillion in October alone. Stablecoin market cap has risen close to 50% this year.”
“The US has gone from being anti-crypto to wanting to become the crypto capital of the world,” he said. Consider Bhutan, which is leading the way in cryptocurrency tourism and has a clear goal of using cryptocurrency on a national level. The sector will get more confidence and acceptance if regulations are clear.
