Drone Crash Dumps Heroin Near India‑Pakistan Border, 3 Arrested

In Rajasthan’s Sriganganagar district, close to the international border between India and Pakistan, 4.88 kg of heroin valued at Rs 20 crore was found late on Thursday night after being supplied by drone.

While dumping drugs, the drone crashed. Three smugglers who were transporting the heroin and the downed drone were apprehended by Rawla police.

According to Sriganganagar District Superintendent of Police Amrita Duhan, a drone was used to transport the heroin shipment from Pakistan over the border. On Friday, police and the Border Security Force began a large-scale search operation along the border.

The three have been the subject of an NDPS Act case. Teams from the Border Security Force and police are questioning them. It is known that there have been many reports of drones dropping heroin in the border area.
