A senior official said that at least 23 employees of a nightclub in Arpora village, North Goa, perished in a fire late on Saturday night.

Alok Kumar, the head of Goa police, told PTI that a cylinder burst caused the fire.
“There have been at least 23 corpses found. The club’s employees were the victims, according to the director general of police.

Local MLA Michael Lobo and Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant have raced to the scene. Lobo told PTI that the accident did not affect any visitors.
