Investment Boosts Food Processing
The Food Processing Ministry has inked an agreement with Godrej Agrovet Ltd to spend Rs 960 crore in the establishment of production, processing, and research facilities.
During World Food India 2025, the firm and the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) inked a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Friday.

The Memorandum of Understanding aligns with our long-term plan to improve our capacity for agri-food processing and distribution. Our goal is to generate sustainable value across the supply chain and help improve the ecosystem by investing in upstream infrastructure and research and development,” said Sunil Kataria, CEO & MD of Godrej Agrovet.
Godrej Agrovet will establish an upstream R&D center and manufacturing and processing facilities under the terms of the Memorandum of Understanding. With an emphasis on the company’s pet food and oil palm operations, the investment covers Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Tripura, Telangana, and Maharashtra.
