According to an update to the company’s account help site, Sundar Pichai’s digital behemoth Google has started letting users modify their @gmail.com email address while keeping the same account, data, and services.
Users may now change their Gmail address without losing access to emails, folders, or subscriptions.
According to Google, messages sent to the previous email address will still arrive in the same inbox since it will continue to serve as an alias. Additionally, you may still log in to Google services like Drive, Maps, and YouTube using your previous address.
Deployment and Availability
Google’s Hindi-language support site presently displays the amended guidelines, suggesting that the deployment may begin in India or other Hindi-speaking areas.
According to the corporation, the functionality is being implemented gradually and will eventually be available to more consumers.
Restrictions on Changing Gmail Address
Google has restricted the function. Users may modify their Gmail usernames up to three times per account, but only once per 12 months. After choosing a new address, it cannot be removed, and users will not be allowed to create another Gmail account for a year.
