The State government’s 2026–2027 budget of ₹19,306 crore for the health sector is a 9.5% increase, or ₹1,669 crore, above the 2025–2026 revised estimate of ₹17,637 crore.
Following Saturday’s budget presentation, Health Minister Y. Satya Kumar Yadav and BJP MLA P. Vishnukumar Raju spoke to a press conference at the Assembly and stated that the allotment accounted for 5.81% of the whole budget expenditure. He pointed out that in terms of total funding, the health sector comes in fourth place, behind Panchayat Raj and Rural Development, BC Welfare, and Education.
Medical education has received ₹9,380 crore, health and family welfare has received ₹5,352 crore, public health has received ₹2,582 crore, the Directorate of Secondary Health has received ₹1,549 crore, and AYUSH has received ₹385.25 crore.
The Dr. NTR Vaidya Seva Trust has been given ₹4,000 crore, while the construction of government medical colleges and teaching hospitals has been given ₹2,819 crore. Other important programs include ₹600 crore for drug purchase, ₹222 crore for 108 ambulance services, and ₹128 crore for 104 health services. With ₹51 crore, the administration has also brought back the NTR Baby Kit program.
The approved amount of ₹838 crore under the Prime Minister Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission is a 98.87% increase over the revised estimate of ₹421 crore. Establishing public health labs, village health clinics, and critical care blocks will be the uses of the monies.
Mr. Yadav praised the budget, saying that the increased funding would boost welfare programs, better service delivery, and fortify healthcare infrastructure—all while hastening the State’s goal of Swarna Andhra 2047.
