According to the news agency ANI, which cited Secretary of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology S Krishnan, India is hosting the largest artificial intelligence (AI) summit of South Asia in New Delhi beginning Monday, February 16, 2026.
The summit will include over 600 high-potential startups and is anticipated to draw a large number of visitors, exceeding government expectations.
The government has made every preparation it can for the massive AI event, and 2.5 lakh people from India and around the world have registered for the first day of the AI Impact Summit 2026, according to the agency report that quoted the official.
“The desire to take part in the event has really increased. across 2.5 lakh people have registered with us from all across India and the world. We’ve tried to make all the arrangements that we can. We did not limit registrations since we never expected that so many individuals would be willing and wanting to go. Therefore, everyone is invited to join the numerous sessions that are taking place on all days other than the 19th,” S Krishnan told the news agency.
The scale of the 2026 India AI Impact Summit
India will hold a national AI demonstration during the India AI Impact Summit 2026, which will take place at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi from February 16–20, 2026.
The agency report claims that the expo, which spans ten arenas totaling over 70,000 square meters, provides a platform for international technology companies, startups, academic and research institutions, Union Ministries, State Governments, and international partners to network.
In order to demonstrate global cooperation in the AI ecosystem, the conference will also include 13 national pavilions, including those from Australia, Japan, Russia, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany.
Under the three primary themes of People, Planet, and Progress, the AI summit will feature more than 300 carefully designed display pavilions and live demos, the agency report also noted.
The event will include more than 500 sessions with more than 3,250 speakers and panelists who will address future steps to guarantee that AI benefits everyone worldwide and highlight the revolutionary impact of AI across sectors.

All registered attendees are invited to attend any of the AI summit is sessions, with the exception of the events set for February 19, 2026, Meity Secretary S Krishnan told the news agency.
