Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s journey from Dibrugarh to Guwahati on an IndiGo flight was disrupted, with the aircraft making an unscheduled landing in Agartala because of adverse weather conditions.
IndiGo also issued a passenger alert due to the unfavorable weather conditions in Guwahati. The aircraft was rerouted from Agartala to Guwahati after the weather cleared.

On Sunday, poor weather forced the rerouting of an Indigo flight from Dibrugarh to Guwahati to Agartala. This aircraft also carried Himanta Biswa Sarma, the chief minister of Assam. When the weather cleared, the plane took off from Agartala.

In this context, the Assamese Chief Minister’s Office has also released a statement. According to reports, poor weather forced CM Himanta Biswa Sarma’s aircraft to be diverted to Agartala. In response to the unfavorable weather in Guwahati, IndiGo also sent a warning for travelers.

The continuous rain and thunderstorms are interfering with flights, according to IndiGo. For Guwahati city and the surrounding regions, the Meteorological Department has also released a seven-day weather prediction. The forecast for August 24, 2025, in Guwahati was for overcast sky and thunderstorms from 14:30 to 20:30.
