IndiGo Market Share Drops to 63.6% in November 2025

According to official statistics, the biggest airline in the nation, IndiGo, had significant operational problems earlier this month, and its domestic market share fell to 63.6% in November.

Market Share Changes in November

In November, the market shares of SpiceJet and Air India Group, which includes Air India and Air India Express, increased to 3.7% and 26.7%, respectively. These percentages were 2.6% and 25.7%, respectively, in October.

According to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation’s (DGCA) most recent statistics, Akasa Air’s domestic market share decreased from 5.2% in October to 4.7% in November. IndiGo continued to be the biggest domestic carrier with a share of 63.6% in November, but it had dropped from 65.6% in October.

Operational Adjustments by DGCA

Earlier this month, DGCA ordered IndiGo to cut its winter schedule by 10% in response to the operational problems.

Domestic airlines transported 1,526.35 lakh passengers between January and November of 2025 compared to 1,464.02 lakh during the same period the year before, indicating an annual rise of 4.26% and a monthly growth of 6.92%, according to DGCA.

Passenger Complaints and Flight Cancellations

50.6% of the 1,196 passenger-related complaints that airlines received last month concerned flight issues, followed by luggage (17.9%) and refunds (12.5%). According to the statistics, scheduled domestic airlines had an overall cancellation rate of 1.33 percent in November.
