The Gen-Z demonstrations in Nepal against corruption and social media bans forced the government to give up.
In addition to PM KP Sharma Oli’s resignation, the resignations of the Home Minister, Agriculture Minister, and Health Minister came first. Even before to the all-party meeting that Oli had planned, he made his resignation public.
The Gen-Z demonstrators, who came to the streets to protest the social media ban and systemic corruption, have won concessions from the government. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli of Nepal resigned after the resignations of the country’s Home Minister, Agriculture Minister, and Health Minister.
At 6 p.m. today, KP Sharma Oli summoned an all-party meeting. In the letter he wrote, Oli said, “I am speaking with the parties concerned to assess the issue and look for a significant settlement.”
I have also scheduled an all-party meeting for this afternoon at 6 p.m. I respectfully ask all of my siblings to exercise patience at this trying time. However, Oli had already resigned before the meeting.
