Kuwait Cuts Oil Production After Iranian Strikes

In response to repeated strikes by Iran, Kuwait declared a “precautionary” cutback in its crude oil production and refining activities.

According to the Kuwait News Agency, the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation made the change in reaction to “repeated and hostile” Iranian attacks on Kuwait.

The company emphasized that the cut is “purely preventative” and will be reevaluated when circumstances change.

It further stated that the company is still ready to resume manufacturing as soon as circumstances permit.

Iran has been launching missiles and drones toward Israel and Gulf nations that house US military equipment since February 28. Certain attacks have resulted in casualties and damage to residential structures and ports, among other civilian locations.

Tehran claims that the strikes were a reaction to a US-Israeli military campaign against Iran that has death hundreds of people, including senior military officials and Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
