Lakme Fashion Week 2025: Mrunal Thakur Dazzles in Gold as Stars Shine on Runway

Lakmé and the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) are organizing the four-day fashion extravaganza, which is taking place at The Grand in Vasant Kunj, New Delhi.

Lakme Fashion Week 2025’s third day was a flurry of activity, glitz, and inventiveness. A blend of classic elegance, modern flare, and even cosmic inspiration brought the runway to life. While famous showstoppers like Mrunal Thakur, Tabu, Vaani Kapoor, Shalini Passi, Vishal Jethwa, and Sahher Bambba illuminated the stage with their presence, designers like Pankaj & Nidhi, Mahima Mahajan, and Payal Jain revealed imaginative collections. Here are some of the night’s most notable moments.

Thakur Mrunal

In Pankaj & Nidhi’s Araquis collection, which championed empowerment through a futuristic viewpoint, Mrunal Thakur shone as the show-stopper. She donned a sleek black skirt with a bold thigh-high slit and a sculpted golden bodice, creating a startling combination of contemporary edge and royal majesty. The ensemble was a wonderful representation of the collection’s concept of angelic beauty and warrior-like might.

Tabu

In a deep emerald green anarkali, the always disheveled Tabu walked for Itrh’s Noor line, radiating classic wedding charm. A layered ghaghra provided depth and movement, while elaborate embroidery and glistening zari work enhanced the ensemble’s grandeur. The Noor line used rich silks, Jadau jewelry, and traditional workmanship to depict the journey of a bashful girl into a dazzling bride.

Passi Shalini

Galaxies and other celestial bodies served as the inspiration for Nikita Mhaisalkar’s Beyond collection, which art patron Shalini Passi personified as cosmic luxury. With its glittering cosmic designs and starlight-like halter straps, her velvet fishtail gown combined velvet and metallic materials to create an ethereal, space-inspired look.

Kapoor Vaani

For Mahima Mahajan’s FANAH Resort collection, Vaani Kapoor stole the show with a flowing floral lehenga and a corset blouse that was a beautiful blend of rigidity and tenderness. Using silks and organzas, the outfit included exquisite hand embellishments in pastel and jewel tones, inspired by the Sufi notion of fanā (self-annihilation in divine love). “Every female would desire it in her wardrobe since it conveys feminine energy,” Vaani told indianexpress.com.

Jethwa Vishal

Vishal Jethwa, who is homebound, walked for Jigar & Nikita’s 11°E collection wearing a textured dupatta, slim pants, and a fitted white sherwani. The collection combined spiritual symbolism with elaborate needlework and vivid colors to explore themes of intuition and awakening. Vishal’s confident manner and elegant gait made the ensemble come to life.

Bambba Sahher

In Richa Khemka’s Vantage collection, actor Sahher Bambba, who most recently starred in Netflix’s B**ds of Bollywood, made a statement. Her black skirt and white bodycon dress perfectly captured the collection’s investigation of duality: stillness and movement, sea and sky. For a striking but well-balanced finish, the ensemble used metallic textiles, sheer organza, rich velvets, and elaborate bead and pearl embroidery.

Day 2 Summary

Penty, Diana

Diana Penty stole the show in Jigar & Nikita’s 11°E collection, donning a rose-pink lehenga that expertly combined contemporary styles with traditional workmanship. She was a sophisticated focal point of the evening because to her flowing curves, soft patterns, and subtle pearl accents.

Bedi Mandira

Mandira Bedi attracted attention when she wore a strapless white gown with intricate embroidery and a sheer trailing shawl for Payal Jain’s Paris Mon Amour collection. The ensemble successfully captured the collection’s tribute to classic femininity by fusing Parisian charm with couture perfection.

Aditi Rao Hydari

Wearing a silk saree from the Night Garden collection, which included shades of navy, scarlet, and plum, Aditi Rao Hydari made her runway debut as co-creative director for Satya Paul. The collection celebrates festive elegance with a modern twist, including striking flower designs and sophisticated draping. Aditi told the Times of India, “I am really excited and looking forward to this new creative adventure with Satya Paul.”
