Manchester Orchestra Drummer Tim Very Dies at 42

Tim Very, a drummer for the Manchester Orchestra for many years, died at the age of forty-two. On Saturday, February 14, the rock band from Atlanta announced the death of Tim Very.

Manchester Orchestra’s official Instagram account posted a statement, saying, “The unexpected death of our brother, Timothy Very, has devastated the entire Manchester Orchestra family.” The most adored person any of us had the good fortune to meet during our lifetimes. We are all still in complete shock, therefore we have been afraid to share this news.

“Tim was immediately likeable and interacted with everyone he encountered with love and warmth,” the rock band said in a statement expressing their deep grief over the musician’s passing. He instantly made visitors feel welcome and inspired with his contagious chuckle. His enthusiasm and sense of humor served as the essential glue that kept the whole MO cosmos together. Friends soon became family, and strangers soon became friends.

“The only thing that Tim loved more than creating music was being with his family,” the Georgia-based American indie rock band wrote as the post’s conclusion. It is hard to find a happier father. Thank you for loving us, Tim. We love you. For the remainder of our days, you will be a constant source of positivity.

After longtime drummer Jeremiah Edmond left Manchester Orchestra in 2010, Tim Very joined the group. His tenure with Manchester Orchestra began with Simple Math, the group’s third full-length album. After its 2011 release on Favorite Gentlemen, this album peaked at number 10 on Billboard’s Top Rock Albums and Top Alternative Albums lists. After Simple Math became successful, Tim began going on tour with the indie rock group.

Until his death, Tim Very was a pillar of the band. A Black Mile to the Surface and The Million Masks of God are two albums on which he also appeared.
