According to some, there is so much gold in these places that large-scale mining will be feasible.
The administration began making plans
Gold has been discovered in Deogarh district.

Gold exploration is ongoing in the following districts:
Mayurbhanj
Malkangiri
Sambalpur
Boudh
The state government plans to put these gold mines up for auction soon.
For this, preliminary work has already started. GSI and the Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) are collaborating to put the Devgarh mine up for sale.
Growth in income and employment
If mining is successful, experts predict that the state’s revenue will rise significantly. There will be new job prospects for local kids. Mining-related ancillary businesses will also profit. In terms of gold output, Odisha will be able to establish a new identity.
Prioritizing local interests and the environment
The administration has said absolutely that mining would only go place in accordance with environmental regulations. Additionally, the development and restoration of the impacted communities and their inhabitants will get top priority.
A huge relief for the nation as well
It is important to remember that India only produces 1.6 tons of gold annually, compared to 700 to 800 tons imported. Such a scenario might significantly reduce reliance on imports if Odisha’s mines are ready for production.
According to experts, this will strengthen the nation’s economy and result in significant foreign exchange savings.
