The most powerful voices in India will come together to shape the country’s next significant economic development as part of IDFC FIRST Bank’s Network18 Reforms Reloaded, which begins today in New Delhi. To discuss the future of GST reforms and chart the course for India’s tax and economic agenda, policymakers, CEOs, economists, technologists, defense strategists, and investors will come together.

Stronger center-state collaboration on taxes, a greater emphasis on development via investment and consumption, and a stronger drive for India’s independence in defense and cutting-edge technology are the main tenets of Reforms Reloaded. Arunish Chawla, Secretary, DIPAM, V. Anantha Nageswaran, Chief Economic Advisor, GoI, and Shri Pralhad Joshi, Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, GoI, will join Gajendra Shekhawat, Minister of Tourism, GoI, in leading the government’s viewpoint. They will provide clarity on structural reforms, privatization, and fiscal readiness.

Leaders from the sector, including Santosh Iyer, MD & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India; Mohit Malhotra, CEO, Dabur; and Rajiv Memani, President, CII & Chairman & CEO, EY India, will consider how changes might boost market confidence, change trade, and speed up consumption. Utpal Sheth, the founder and mentor of TRUST Group; Atul Suri, the CEO of Marathon Trends; and Nilesh Shah, the MD of Kotak Mahindra Asset Management, will also provide the investor lens by highlighting the expectations of both local and international capital on the upcoming changes.

With international perspectives on changing geopolitics and trade from speakers like Benedikt Höskuldsson, the ambassador of Iceland to India, Kanwal Sibal, the former foreign secretary and ambassador to the United States, and Ambassador Anil Sooklal, the high commissioner of South Africa to India, the conversation will also go beyond India’s boundaries. Regarding innovation, experts like Vivek Mishra, co-founder and CEO of Raphe mPhibr, and Shashi Shekhar Vempati, co-founder of DeepTech for Bharat, will demonstrate how AI and deep tech may boost self-reliance and sovereign potential.

Rajesh Kumar Singh, India’s defense secretary, will highlight defence manufacturing and the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative, and Amitabh Kant, a former G20 Sherpa and CEO of NITI Aayog, will provide his thoughts on the future of India’s reform narrative.
