Revolut Plans India Payment Platform by 2030

India is a crucial pillar of Revolut‘s worldwide development, since the company said last month that it was looking at buying a U.S. bank and launching a credit card here.

As part of a planned worldwide expansion, London-based digital finance company Revolut said on Wednesday that it would introduce its payment platform in India, marking its first entry into one of the biggest digital payments markets in the world.

Later this year, 350,000 waitlisted clients will be the first to be able to utilize Revolut’s partnerships with Visa and the Unified Payments Interface to conduct both local and international payments.

By 2030, the corporation wants to have 20 million clients, according to a release.

According to a spokeswoman, the fintech company spent more than 40 million pounds localizing its technology to comply with data sovereignty regulations in India, the only region in which it has done so.
