Sergio Gor, the US ambassador to India, stated on Friday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump will meet at the appropriate moment.
When asked if a Modi-Trump meeting was possible, Gor told news agency ANI on the sidelines of the India AI Impact Summit, “Stay tuned, I am sure it will happen at the right moment.”
The last time the two leaders met was on February 13, 2025, when President Trump welcomed Prime Minister Modi to Washington, DC, on an official working visit. Modi and Trump stayed in constant contact throughout 2025, particularly about trade talks.

Gor attended the AI Impact Summit today, February 20, when India formally joined Pax Silica, the US-led initiative on supply chain security and artificial intelligence.
India signed and exchanged the Pax Silica proclamation with visiting US Under Secretary of State for Economic Affairs Jacob Helberg and Secretary of Electronics and Information Technology S Krishnan. Gor was also present.
According to Gor, the conference has had a significant impact. He told the news agency ANI, “We look forward to collaborating on that because we have a lot of prospects between our two nations.”
Following President Donald Trump’s announcement of a new bilateral trade agreement earlier this month that significantly reduces U.S. tariffs on Indian goods and marks a significant realignment in energy and technology cooperation, Gor characterized the India-United States relationship as having “limitless potential.”
