SpiceJet Expands Thailand Routes
As its second destination in Thailand after Bangkok, SpiceJet has announced the opening of daily nonstop flights from Delhi and Mumbai to Phuket, the country’s biggest and most visited island.
On October 31, 2025, flights will start from Delhi to Phuket, while on November 6, 2025, flights will start from Mumbai. The action gives Indian tourists easier access to Thailand’s tourist attractions and fortifies SpiceJet’s global network.
SpiceJet Chief Business Officer Debojo Maharshi stated: “We are thrilled to expand our global network by including Phuket, one of the most popular vacation spots worldwide. SpiceJet is making it simpler than ever for Indian tourists to take advantage of Thailand’s beaches, culture, and people by offering nonstop flights from Delhi and Mumbai. Additionally, this expansion confirms our dedication to provide additional foreign options, smooth connectivity, and affordable tickets.
Phuket: Beaches, Culture, Adventure
Phuket is well-known for its breathtaking beaches, exciting nightlife, and diverse cultural offerings, including the famous Big Buddha statue and Old Phuket Town‘s Sino-Portuguese architecture. The island offers visitors a combination of leisure and adventure by acting as a starting point for visiting neighboring islands like the Phi Phi Islands.
Now, travelers may purchase tickets via SpiceJet’s official website or mobile app, taking advantage of the airline’s affordable prices and cozy amenities, such as the roomy SpiceMax economy class seats.
SpiceJet Strengthens Fleet Expansion
As a significant step in its development plan, SpiceJet announced on September 26 that it has secured a lease arrangement to add a wide-body Airbus A340 aircraft to its fleet by the end of September. Subject to regulatory permissions, the airline anticipates the aircraft to land in India later this month and start operations in the first week of October. Before switching to a damp lease, which the business said would provide more operational flexibility and cost benefits, the A340 would first run on a wet lease scheme.
One of the biggest low-cost airlines in India, SpiceJet is IATA-IOSA approved and operates a fleet of Boeing 737s and Q-400s. With many daily flights around the nation, the airline is a major participant in regional connectivity under the UDAN program.
