In a statement on Thursday, Tata Power Company said that it expects its Mundra supercritical thermal plant to start up again by December 31, 2025.
The facility has been down since July, but the electricity company says it is still taking the required steps to get it back up and running.
Businessline said in November that the facility will start up again before the end of the year and that the firm would likely negotiate a supplemental power purchase agreement with one of its clients, the Gujarat government.
Utilizing imported coal, the plant also provides electricity to Punjab, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, and Haryana.
In FY25, the company’s entire turnover was ₹64,502 crore, of which 17.5% came from the Mundra factory.
The business had said in an exchange filing in October that it had temporarily halted plant operations in order to carry out ongoing revamping tasks to address current technical problems. The proposed shutdown date was November 30, 2025.
