Kangra News: Annual Pass Introduced for Locals on Triund Trek

The Forest Department has made the decision to significantly alter the entry requirements in order to make Triund Trek more structured and secure. Locals will get a one-year pass under the new system, while visitors from outside the area will need to pay the standard admission price in order to participate in the walk.

Triund Trek Infrastructure Upgrade

To upgrade the Triund Trek, the Forest Department plans to invest lakhs of rupees. The department is getting ready for work to begin on April 1. This project will create basic facilities such as dustbins, safety rails, sign boards, and track repair and broken part repair.

In the face of growing tourism, the department seeks to preserve the ecological equilibrium and guarantee cleanliness. Only the preservation of the journey will be funded with the money collected from visitors.

Local Tourism Gets Boost

For locals, the annual pass will alleviate the burden of ongoing costs for the area’s guides and horse-mule operators. In addition to drawing more visitors, improving the trek’s quality will boost the local tourism industry significantly.

Triund Trek will shortly be up for auction. We plan to begin the work on April 1st. They are deciding on terms and conditions for this. As soon as the procedure is finished, it will be put into effect. -Amit Sharma, DFO, Dharamshala Forest Division
