Vande Bharat AC Sleeper Coach to Feature at Indian railway 2025

CII estimates that the worldwide railway market is about USD 360 billion, while the local railway business in India is worth around Rs 2.5 lakh crore, or USD 30 billion.

When the Indian Railways Equipment Exhibition (IREE) 2025 opens on October 15, the soon-to-be-launched Vande Bharat air-conditioned sleeper trains will be on display.

For long and medium distance travel, the Ministry of Railways intends to launch Vande Bharat Sleeper trains. According to railway authorities, Vande Bharat sleeper trains are built with amenities like automated doors, WiFi on board, and an aircraft-like design.

Vande Bharat sleeper and chair car coaches will be on display at the biannual IREE 2025. At the exhibition’s opening ceremony, Dilip Kumar, Executive Director of Information and Publicity for the Indian Railway Board, said, “It will also contain Amrit Bharat coaches, Tejas Bharat, Humsafar coaches, Namo Bharat trains, and the Sri Lankan Mainline, to mention a few.”

Stakeholders predict that the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Indian railroads will host the IREE 2025, the biggest railroads and transportation event in Asia and the second largest in the world.

“Indian Railways is modernizing its fleet, rolling stock, key stations, signals and telecommunications, and nationwide station infrastructure. It is also developing world-class viaducts and Gati Shakti Frieght corridors, all while leading railway transportation through a transformational and sustainable transition,” stated Sitaram Sinku, Additional Member (production units), Indian Railway. Huge electrification projects and cutting-edge green technology are helping to accomplish this. The advancements presented at IREE 2025 demonstrate how rail can propel economic expansion and bring us one step closer to achieving Net Zero Carbon Emissions by 2030.

IREE 2025 will concentrate on railway modernization, technology, safety, and generating business possibilities for MSMEs and major firms to work with Indian Railways, according to B Thiagarajan, Chairman of the CII Trade Fair Council, who spoke about the event. He said, “It would help us align with our aims of developing Indian Railways a really world-class, cheap, and safe train that offers passengers remarkable comfort.”

CII estimates that the worldwide railway market is about USD 360 billion, while the local railway business in India is worth around Rs 2.5 lakh crore, or USD 30 billion. India is anticipated to gain a greater portion of the global railway market in the upcoming years as a result of ongoing modernization initiatives and growing involvement in global supply chains.
